Oracle Exadata meets elastic configurations With the release of Exadata Database Machine X5-2 Oracle announced elastic configurations to allow Oracle Exadata Racks to have custom combinations of database and storage servers. This session will introduce the Exadata Database Machine X5-2 and then focus on the elastic configurations options and details. We will go through the steps on real world implementation of Exadata X5-2 HC Eighth Rack plus one storage server configuration.

Exadata Consolidations: Lessons From Retail This session focuses on real-world Oracle Exadata migration projects at two of the largest retailers in the United Kingdom. These projects were major Oracle Exadata consolidation projects and the stepping stone to a database as a service (DBaaS) model. The presentation shows the techniques used to perform the migrations and tweaks made to the Oracle Exadata install. It shares what worked well and highlights areas that may pose challenges during your journey to Oracle Exadata and DBaaS.

Understanding Oracle GoldenGate The session will start with basic introduction of Oracle GoldenGate, its components, usage scenarios, supported data types and supported databases. The session will also cover different capture and apply modes as well configuration, installation and monitoring for Oracle Database. Oracle on Unix-like The presentation will focus on how Linux penetrated the enterprise OS market and Oracle installations on industry standard servers. This will outline main high availability techniques and tunable system considerations. The presenter will make a comparison between Linux and Unix environment and show why Linux is not yet at the level of the proprietary Unix systems.
